A stop by the Red-tailed Hawk nest Friday morning before work revealed that the adventurous little hawk who’d wandered to the nest platform’s lower level on Thursday had found its way back to the nest.

Would the rest of the day bring our first fledge?

An afternoon check found the three siblings just riding out the heavy rain. One, above, was roosting way out at the end of the platform. The other two, at right, were content to hang out by the nest.

The weather has improved this morning, so I’ll be headed down to the nest soon for another check.
